Hand Foot & Mouth Disease

Hand Foot & Mouth Disease
Don't share eating utensils or drinking glasses, avoid close contact with infected people, don't touch blisters or lesions, wash your hands
dehydration is common because the sores in the mouth can make swallowing difficult
The majority of HFMD cases are minor, and most people recover in seven to ten days without medical treatment
The infection is spread through direct contact with the saliva, mucus, blister fluid, or feces of infected people. Within one or two days
The disease is transmitted by direct contact with nose and throat secretions, stool of infected people and airborne droplets from coughing
The incubation period is 3-5 days. The disease is contagious until the sores are completely healed.
Frequent hand washing
Proper disposal of contaminated tissues
Disinfection of all surfaces
There is no treatment for this disease, other than symptom relief. Nearly all patients recover within 7-10 days
A person with the disease is infectious until the blisters dry up. The virus is in the fluid of the blisters, and can be spread by coughing
Allow blisters to dry naturally.
There is no immunization against hand, foot and mouth disease
Your child may prefer cold drinks, including cold milk drinks, or ice blocks (these can be made with milk)
Offer plenty of drinks. Avoid drinks like orange juice, which is acidic and can cause pain if the mouth has ulcers
You can also apply a cold that soaked in water in which margosa leaves have been boiled and strained
The best way to combat the itchiness and resist the urge to scratch is by using margosa or mint leaves to gently brush the area
Daily baths will help reduce the itching
avoid eating outside foods and only consume home cooked meals that are prepared under hygienic conditions
